I can’t tell you what to put on your bookshelf but if you already own “Expert SQL Server 2005 Development” there is probably no reason to buy the 2008 book. From what I’ve been told the new author is doing only a light update on most of the topics, updating the product name from “2005” to “2008”. There will be a new chapter on spatial data, but that topic is too big for a single chapter anyway so I don’t think it will be especially valuable. Grab the 2005 edition instead–almost 100% of the material still applies to 2008 (everything but spatial), and you can probably get it at a steep discount compared with the brand new 2008 edition.
Cool, thanks for that tip Adam!
There’s no Book about MDX and more SSAS stuff
I need to update bookstore with latest content. I’ve been busy for months on other projects, my apologies.
